I think everyone have used photoshop. We use photoshop to edit photos or create graphics. So today i'm going to show you how to make a icon only using photoshop. You don,t need eny other softwares for this trick. I have used this method on a Windows XP OS for Folder icons. Also i have used this for web site icons(Shortcut icon on the browser title bar). It works greet. So i will show you how to do this.
Open photoshop and click File >> New
Give height and width as 32pixels and resolution as 100pixels/inch
Press OK and draw your icon using photoshop tools
After you draw your icon click File >> Save
Give format as BMP
Give it a name and click Save
Then next box will come give file format = windows and Depth = 16bit
Now close photoshop and open My Documents and click Tools >> Folder options
Box will come and in the box press View tab
Then scrool down untill u see Hide extensions for known file types remove the mark on it
Click Apply >> Ok
Now go to your icon file's location and you will see it's name is name.bmp
Rename it to name.ico
Now open My Documents and click Tools >> Folder options
Box will come and in the box press View tab
Then scrool down untill u see Hide extensions for known file types add the mark on it
Click Apply >> Ok
Now you have your icon.
You can use it now.
